Buhl Lake is the largest lake & centerpiece of the community

It is a private lake, only open to the members of the association

It is about 120 acres and its depth is from 15 – 30 feet with an average area temperature in the summer months of about 80 degrees Fahrenheit

Each of the six subdivisions around Buhl Lake has a neighborhood park, most with picnic tables and play equipment

There is also a pavilion and/or Meeting Room for events that members can rent very inexpensively

The private pool is normally open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend

Headwaters of the Au Sable, Black, Manistee, Pigeon, and Sturgeon Rivers are in Otsego County

The Au Sable River watershed is the county’s largest watershed

This area is filled with jack pine barrens, white pine-red pine forest, and northern hardwood forest

Close to the Gaylord State Forest Area

Hartwick Pines State Park is just 28 miles to the south and is one of the last remaining stands of old-growth virgin Eastern white pine forest

The Huron-Manistee National Forests is also nearby
